Krishna and the Deer: “The Heart Waits”
Acrylic on stretched canvas | 30 × 24 inches
I’ve always loved Krishna — his stories have lived in my heart since childhood. Yet I’ve never imagined him as grand or heavily adorned. To me, he feels close to the earth — simple, gentle, and filled with quiet love. I’m drawn to painting him this way: in soft robes, without ornaments, surrounded by nature.
In this piece, he sits in peaceful stillness within a lotus pond, a gentle fawn resting beside him. His eyes carry a quiet longing — as if waiting for something… or someone. Perhaps Radha. Perhaps simply a moment of peace.
That tender, patient, and deeply human emotion is what I tried to capture.
